Welcome to East Nashville Wellness Center

Thank you for learning more about us.

We want to take some time to share our journey with you. East Nashville Wellness Center is a non-profit outpatient mental health and substance use treatment center, located in East Nashville. We are dedicated to meeting the mental health needs of our community.

Started by Caitlin and Seth, the two saw a need in Nashville. Seth was completing his medical residency in psychiatry at Vanderbilt when he heard about his patients’ struggles. They experienced long wait times, and even if they could get appointments, they were not always able to get the services that they needed. The average wait time in Nashville is at least 4-6 weeks, and it is estimated that only 20% of those with substance use disorders are receiving specialty treatment. This is not acceptable.

Caitlin was working for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. She would go on visits to local mental health clinics and see how understaffed they were. There was a huge desire to help the patients, but there just weren’t enough resources. Even when there were resources available, they were often specific to only mental health or substance use, and not both.

Then Caitlin and Seth met. On their third date they joked about opening up a clinic of their own–one where they would truly be able to help patients. Several years later East Nashville Wellness Center became that clinic.

Our Mental Health Clinic Now

Our vision is to combine mental health and substance use treatment under one roof. Many local clinics treat these as separate disorders, but the two are integrally related. We are in the building phase of our clinic now, collecting donations, and setting us up for success in order to best serve our patients. We are opening in August 2021. When we open we will offer medication management, individual psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy. Our goal is to expand our offerings to include trauma informed yoga, administration of long-acting injectables, and structured dispensing of MAT medications. We truly believe in collaborative care, and focus on a team approach. With Seth being a psychiatrist and Caitlin being a pharmacist, there is already a natural inter-professional collaboration. Our goal is to provide the patient with comprehensive care via a team of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and case managers supporting each patient.

East Nashville Wellness Center’s goal is to help those in need. We will be a sliding scale clinic. This means that payment will be based on what our patients can afford. Our mission is to restore the wellness of Nashvillians through improving mental health, curbing addiction, and helping find the music again. We cannot think of a better use of our time than helping those who are struggling. So please, help us help our community. We would love to work with local partners, and are receiving donations. All donations will assist us in providing services for our patients. So contact us at hello@eastnashvillewellnesscenter.org or click here to donate. Thank you.
