Information for Patients

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I make an appointment?

This is the most commonly requested information from patients. Making an appointment is easy! The simplest way is to call our office at (615) 669-5305. You can also email us at hello@eastnashwell.org to schedule an appointment.

What services do you offer?

Our services are based on your individual needs. Our treatment plans can include medication management, individual therapy, CBT-I, or a comprehensive medication review. You can learn more about our services here.

We do not routinely prescribe long-term benzodiazepines (drugs like Xanax or Klonopin) or instant-release stimulants. As treating providers, we cannot assist with long-term disability applications.

What Insurances do you take?

Currently we take most major commercial insurances:

  • Humana
  • United including typical UMR, UHC, Optum (but not Medicare Advantage)
  • Medicare (traditional plus limited Medicare Advantage plans)
  • Cigna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna

For those patients who have insurance we are unable to take, we will provide you with a superbill, which you can give to your insurance to pursue reimbursement like any other out-of-network provider. We also have a generous sliding scale. As a community-focused nonprofit, we do our best to make sure affordability is not an issue.

What is your sliding scale?

Our goal is to make care accessible and affordable. Discounts are based on income and household size, with initial visits ranging from $70-$375, therapy sessions from $35-215, and med management from $25-200. Please call to discuss details. When scheduling a visit, you have the right to a good faith estimate, in writing, of expected charges.

Do you offer both in person and telehealth?

Yes, we offer both in person and virtual visits. For virtual visits a HIPAA-compliant zoom link will be available in our secure patient portal. You will need a smartphone or computer with a webcam and Zoom installed.

For in-person visits, we are located at 3926 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216. Our building is a converted house, turn onto Norvel Ave. We are in suite B, to the left of East Nashville Pediatrics. Enter through the front door. Please wait on the couches in the front room, no need to check in! One of our providers will come get you when it is time for your appointment.

What are your COVID-19 policies?

For the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, visits will be conducted according to CDC guidelines for healthcare settings, including masking and temperature checks. All staff are fully vaccinated.

What is parking like?

Parking is available in front of or behind the building. Access is from Norvel Ave off Gallatin.

Do you see children?

Unfortunately, no. We are only accepting adult patients at this time. Mature minors (age 16-17) may be seen on a case-by case basis, typically under special circumstances.

How collaborative is your practice?

We love having a collaborative practice, and firmly believe in working with other providers to benefit of our patients. Within our clinic, we have three providers, one psychiatrist, one psychiatric pharmacist, and a counselor who are constantly coordinating care. Outside our clinic, we especially love coordinating care with therapists and primary care. Some psychiatry offices require a patient to see them for both medications and therapy, we do not.

How do I contact you?
